Job summary

SMS group Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Repair and Assembly Technician in Osceola, AR to repair, install, adjust, and maintain industrial production equipment. The role involves using cranes and forklifts to move heavy machinery safely and ensuring equipment runs at peak performance.

The right candidate will read blueprints, weld or fabricate as needed, and document all repairs and parts. This full-time position offers benefits and a shift schedule including 2nd and 3rd shifts with weekend

Qualifications

• Experience repairing industrial production equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manuals.
• Ability to weld and fabricate parts as needed.
• Familiarity with using testing devices like voltmeters to diagnose issues.

Responsibilities

• Repair or maintain industrial production equipment to keep it running smoothly.
• Replace broken components and disassemble/reassemble machinery as needed.
• Inspect equipment, test operation, and diagnose malfunctions.
• Record parts used and order replacements; document repairs and maintenance.
• Read blueprints or manuals to determine correct installation or operation.
• Operate and verify newly repaired machinery.
• Demonstrate equipment functions to operators.

Mechanical Repair and Assembly Technician, you’ll repair, install, adjust, and maintain industrial production equipment while using cranes and forklifts to safely move equipment and materials.

The right candidate will

• Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment
• Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment
• Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs
• Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices
• Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
• Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery
• Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear
• Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs
• Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems
• Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessary
• Record repairs and maintenance performed
• Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment
• Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery
• Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators
