Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to conduct dimensional, visual and surface finish inspections on machined parts and assemblies, including first article, in-process, and final checks. The role requires attention to detail, strong documentation, and collaboration across departments to ensure quality and on-schedule delivery.

Experience with calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges, and vision systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing quality-controlled environment conducting mechanical inspections to Commercial Standards.
• Experience using various hand, pneumatic, and power tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, and presses.
• Ability to read and understand the bill of materials and work order instructions, blueprints, or technical drawings.
• Demonstrated time management skills, strategic thinking, and adaptability.
• General computer knowledge (Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel).
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional, visual, and surface finish inspections of machined parts and assemblies (first article, in-process, final).
• Record inspections accurately and timely; document non-conformances in the ERP system.
• Identify issues with material, workmanship, or process and communicate root causes.
• Interact with all departments to ensure product is correct and on schedule.
• Utilize calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges, and vision equipment for inspections.
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
