Job summary

Pace® Analytical Services is seeking a Mechanical Properties Coding and Modeling technician in Minnesota to support DMA, tensile and other mechanical tests. You will develop and use Python and cloud-based tools to process data, and you will analyze data sets generated on-site.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, data processing, and tool development with a focus on safety and data quality. Experience with Python and basic lab techniques is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science & Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with Python in a scientific environment.
• Good mechanical aptitude and sample manipulation skills.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) would be preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for mechanical analysis by DMA, load frame, peel tester.
• Analyze samples by DMA, load frame and peel tester; analyze data sets using Python and cloud based tools developed on site.
• Develop and modify Python and cloud based data analysis tools.
• Follow standard formats procedures for analyzing samples and reporting data.
• General lab maintenance duties.

Overview

A candidate for this position should be familiar with mechanical properties testing including dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), Kolsky bar, tensile testing, lap shear, etc. The candidate will be developing and using Python and cloud based tools to process data.

Compensation

$22.00 per hour
