We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of mechanical engineering projects from initial planning through to completion. This role will suit a commercially aware and technically capable professional with strong organisational skills and a proven track record of managing projects within a complex engineering, manufacturing, construction or facilities environment.
You will be responsible for defining project scope, developing detailed programmes, managing budgets and coordinating resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards. Key duties will include reviewing technical specifications, preparing project plans, monitoring progress, managing risks and resolving issues as they arise. You will work closely with design, procurement, production, installation and commissioning teams, as well as clients, contractors and suppliers. The role will also involve overseeing subcontractors, assessing variations, controlling costs and ensuring that all work complies with relevant legislation, industry standards, specifications and health and safety requirements.
Applicants should have a recognised qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, together with substantial experience managing mechanical projects. Strong knowledge of project management principles, contract administration, risk management and cost control is essential. Experience of using project planning and reporting tools, interpreting technical drawings and managing multiple projects or workstreams would be advantageous. You will need excellent communication and negotiation skills, the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. A proactive, methodical approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality results are essential. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Mechanical Project Manager to take ownership of varied projects and make a measurable contribution to operational and commercial performance.
