Job summary

Murray Company in San Leandro, CA offers a hands-on summer internship in our Operations group, reporting to project managers. You will gain hands-on experience in pre-construction, fabrication and field installation on mechanical projects. Location: San Leandro, CA with travel to Northern California sites.

Compensation: $27.00 per hour. Duration: 40 hours/week for 10–12 weeks, starting May 2027, Monday–Friday 7 am–4 pm.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university program pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work effectively in a team environment.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship (≈10 weeks).

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical projects.
• Support reviewing designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Help manage project documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders, reports).
• Participate in site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specs.
• Support preparation of cost estimates and budgets.
• Help implement quality control measures.
• Foster communication among project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Assist with safety protocol implementation and compliance.
