Job summary

Bala Consulting Engineers is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for MEP/FP in New York, NY. The position is full-time with four days in the office and one day remote, offering a clear path for growth in a multi-discipline firm.

We value entrepreneurial, driven professionals with strong problem-solving skills. A PE license is preferred and proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required to support high-rise, life science, and commercial projects.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in MEP/FP.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a 4-year accredited college.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and execute assignments for multiple projects in a timely manner.
• Collaborate across departments to gather requirements and plan project needs.
• Draft and document equipment and processes for manufacturability.
• Document operational intent and maintenance for end users.
• Maintain design change records and project progress.
• Participate in onsite client visits including scope walks, meetings, testing, commissioning, startup support, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with client proposals and proposal development.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 To $140,000.00 Annually

Key Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Engineer you will be part of a dynamic and experienced team that drives innovation, quality, and client satisfaction across all aspects of building design. Suitable candidates need to possess knowledge and experience for all phases of building design, including construction administration and commissioning.

This is a full-time role which qualifies for four days in the office and one day remote.

Primary Duties:

• Troubleshoot and execute assignments for multiple projects in a timely manner.
• Effectively and collaboratively work across multiple departments and stakeholders to help gather requirements, plan and execute project requirements.
• Draft and document equipment and processes to ensure seamless manufacturability of projects.
• Document operational intent and maintenance requirements for the end user.
• Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress.
• Participate in onsite client visits including and not limited to project scope walks, meetings, testing, commissioning, startup support, and trouble shooting.
• Assist with client proposals and Proposal development

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

• 7-10 years of experience
• Professional Engineer (PE license) preferred
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to take direction and act independently
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized
• Experience solving complex problems with little to no supervision and on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team
• Experience in the management and execution of multiple projects in Revit and AutoCAD
• Excellent technical, presentation and client interface skills
• Up to date with advancements in mechanical engineering technology and techniques
• Seek opportunities to innovate and improve existing designs and processes

Education Requirement(s):

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field, from a 4-year accredited college or university.
