Gordon Systems and Products in Louisiana seeks a mechanically oriented engineer to guide custom sheet metal, die castings and extrusions from initiation through completion. You will support project teams, review designs, attend design reviews, and ensure specifications meet ASTM/UL/FM.

Bachelor's degree in engineering and 1–5 years experience preferred with strong CAD/FEA, BOM/MRP, and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
1–5 years manufacturing or construction management experience preferred.
Proficiency with BOM/MRP, CAD and FEA software, reading drawings.
Knowledge of FMEA, RCA and Pareto charts.
Strong computer skills and MS Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

Assists in initiation, execution, and completion of key custom systems projects through the full lifecycle.
Provides engineering support for project teams handling external and internal customers.
Attends design reviews, kickoff meetings, and manufacturing release meetings as requested.
Works with external consultants to ensure calculations meet specifications.
Ensures compliance with ASTM, UL, FM, and related product specs.
Develops costs for new components and evaluates vendor vs. in-house options.
Creates new part numbers and standard BOMs; allocates materials for orders.
Performs quality drawing checks and ensures design intent aligns with production capabilities.
