- Develop, review, and approve Engineering Change Packages, technical calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Manage mechanical plant modifications throughout the project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction support, installation, testing, and closeout.
- Perform technical evaluations and engineering calculations involving pumps, valves, piping, HVAC, heat exchangers, and cooling systems.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, operations, maintenance, vendors, and construction personnel to ensure successful project execution.
- Support plant walkdowns, field investigations, troubleshooting, and resolution of installation or design issues.
- Ensure engineering changes comply with applicable nuclear regulatory requirements, industry codes, and plant-specific procedures.
- Provide technical direction and oversight to subcontractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Maintain accurate configuration management records, as-built documentation, and final modification closeout packages.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program preferred; related engineering disciplines may be considered.
- 5-15 years of engineering experience within commercial nuclear power generation.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing mechanical Engineering Change Packages or nuclear plant modification packages.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear plant mechanical equipment and systems.
- Experience supporting modifications from design development through field implementation and final closeout.
- Ability to independently manage engineering deliverables, coordinate stakeholders, and resolve complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience serving as a designated Mechanical Responsible Engineer at an operating commercial nuclear power plant.
- Knowledge of ASME Section III, ASME B31.1, and applicable nuclear design standards.
- Familiarity with 10 CFR 50.59 screenings and nuclear configuration management procedures.
- Experience with nuclear plant capital projects, equipment replacement, piping modifications, system upgrades, and outage support.
- Previous experience working directly for a nuclear utility or supporting commercial nuclear facilities through an engineering services organization.
