Expected salary range:
Mid-Level - $92,700 - $114,000
Sr Level - $122,400- $154,000
Ranges are per year based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401K.
Primary Purpose of Position

This Electrical Engineer will be serving as a technical leader responsible for the development, execution, and oversight of complex engineering projects supporting nuclear plant modifications, equipment reliability improvements, and strategic capital investments. This role combines advanced electrical engineering expertise with project management responsibilities, including scope development, cost and schedule control, contractor oversight, engineering change implementation, and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage engineering service providers (ESPs), develop technical specifications, and ensure engineering products are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable regulatory and industry requirements.

Primary Duties and Accountabilities
Engineering Project Leadership
  • Perform Project Team Lead responsibilities in accordance with applicable company procedures, including PC-AA-1009.
  • Lead engineering projects from conceptual design through installation and closeout.
  • Develop engineering cost estimates, project schedules, resource plans, and technical specifications.
  • Manage engineering project scope, schedule, quality, and budget throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate project activities with stakeholders, sponsors, plant organizations, project controls, procurement, and contractors.
  • Ensure engineering activities support station goals, outage schedules, and long-term asset management strategies.
Cost and Schedule Management
  • Develop and maintain project cost forecasts and engineering budget estimates.
  • Closely monitor and control project expenditures to ensure authorized budgets are maintained.
  • Track project milestones and manage schedules to ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables.
  • Provide monthly schedule updates and forecast information to Project Controls.
  • Promptly communicate cost, scope, or schedule deviations to management, project sponsors, and stakeholders.
  • Process Scope Change Requests (SCRs) for changes in project scope, budget, or schedule, including zero-cost scope changes.
Engineering Contractor and Vendor Oversight
  • Develop Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and participate in bid specification preparation and contractor selection processes.
  • Provide technical support throughout procurement activities.
  • Manage Engineering Service Providers (ESPs) and Specialty Engineering contractors.
  • Maintain ownership and accountability for contracted engineering work products.
  • Monitor contractor performance for quality, cost, and schedule compliance.
  • Conduct Owner's Acceptance Reviews (OARs) of contractor deliverables.
  • Review and approve engineering vendor technical products and project deliverables.
Technical Engineering Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and implement Engineering Changes (ECs).
  • Develop equipment specifications and technical evaluations for electrical components and systems.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations and design basis documentation.
  • Perform and review 10 CFR 50.59 screenings and evaluations, as required.
  • Support plant modifications through design development, installation support, testing and closeout activities.
  • Ensure engineering products meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and station procedures.
Modification and Installation Support
  • Lead pre-installation modification briefings for engineering personnel supporting field implementation.
  • Provide engineering support during online and outage activities.
  • Support troubleshooting, installation oversight, testing and startup of plant modifications.
  • Participate in modification review meetings and plant readiness reviews.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines to support successful project execution.
Organizational Leadership and Development
  • Serve as a technical mentor to junior engineers and project team members.
  • Participate in site-specific and continuing training programs.
  • Support Individual Development Planning (IDP) activities in accordance with ER-AA-1501.
  • Foster engineering Knowledge Transfer and Retention (KT&R) initiatives to support long-term organizational sustainability.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, technical rigor, safety, and operational excellence.
Emergency Response and Operational Support
  • Support Emergency Response Organization (ERO) responsibilities as assigned.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness training and drills.
  • Provide engineering support during plant events, outages, and emergent conditions as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Mid-level E02 Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear) with 2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience

Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Senior E03 Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear) with 5 years of nuclear experience or related engineering experience

Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Preferred Qualifications
  • Nuclear power industry experience
  • Experience with engineering change processes, configuration management, and plant modifications
  • Experience with large electrical modifications, including generators, relays, and power systems
  • Experience managing Engineering Service Providers (ESPs) and external contractors
