Job summary

JTEKT Machinery Americas in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a Mechanical Product Engineer to provide technical support drawings, BOMs, and engineering solutions that meet customer installation and shipment requirements. The role focuses on CAD design, data management in ERP, and collaboration across internal teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities include creating drawings and BOMs, releasing engineering changes, and analyzing customer requests to propose effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of workholding and manufacturing experience.
• 5 years using AutoCAD and SolidWorks in 3D modeling.

• Create and maintain technical drawings, BOMs, part numbers, descriptions and ERP values.
• Maintain open job logs, prioritize work and support delivery schedules.
• Initiate engineering releases and purchase requisitions for internal sales orders.
• Analyze customer requests and recommend technical solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on fixture/tooling selection, design, troubleshooting, and project schedules.
• Support special events and business needs as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain technical drawings BOMs part numbers descriptions and ERP inventory values
• Maintain open job logs prioritize work and support delivery schedules
• Initiate engineering releases and purchase requisitions for internal sales orders
• Analyze customer requests and recommend technical solutions
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on fixturetooling selection design troubleshooting corrective actions and project schedules
• Support special events and business needs as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Design Engineering related discipline or equivalent experience
• 5 years of workholding and manufacturing experience
• 5 years using advanced AutoCAD and SolidWorks 3D modeling
• Strong applied math skills including geometry trigonometry probabilitystatistics and pressureflowvolume calculations
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JTEKT Machinery
• Toyoda products
• Manufacturing or machine tool design engineering experience
• Mechanical or design engineering trade certificate or licensing preferred
