Our company is seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Product Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned engineer with a passion for innovation, creativity, and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full life cycle of product development, from initial concept to final production. Our ideal candidate is one who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and has a strong background in mechanical engineering, CAD, SolidWorks, plastics, manufacturing, and automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of new products from concept to production, ensuring they meet customer requirements and company standards.
  • Utilize CAD and SolidWorks for the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Conduct detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling, simulations, and tolerance analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex mechanical issues.
  • Apply knowledge of plastics and other materials in the design and manufacturing process.
  • Implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions to improve product design and performance.
  • Oversee the testing of prototypes, making necessary modifications to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure all products are designed in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical product development.
  • Proficiency in CAD and SolidWorks is essential.
  • Extensive experience in plastics, manufacturing processes, and automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead product development projects from concept to production.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a creative approach to design and problem-solving.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong work ethic and a passion for product development.
