Job summary

Philips invites motivated undergraduates and graduate students to participate in a paid internship at our Reedsville, PA site. You will support mechanical design and process improvements in ultrasound transducer R&D, including tooling, fixtures, prototypes, tests, and documentation updates.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across mechanical, manufacturing, quality, materials, acoustics, electrical, and systems engineering to advance product development and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Engineering fields.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks or Creo) preferred.
• Strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Interest in medical device engineering and regulated development.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design and process improvement for ultrasound transducer R&D, including tooling, fixtures, prototypes, tests, and documentation updates.
• Assist with design-build-test activities: create prototypes, run experiments, collect data, analyze results, and summarize recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across mechanical, process, manufacturing, quality, materials, acoustic, electrical, and systems engineering.
• Contribute to process robustness, manufacturability, and quality improvement through root‑cause analysis, process characterization, work instructions, and verification activities.
• Gain practical experience in medical device engineering, regulated product development, technical documentation, and hands-on problem solving with engineering mentors.
