Job summary

The Foth Companies in Wisconsin is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to deliver innovative utility solutions for industrial clients. You’ll shape process utility systems, develop P&IDs, create mass and energy balances, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive project success.

This is a senior role with growth opportunities and approximately 30% travel. While preference is for the Green Bay office, remote candidates or those near other offices are welcome, and the team emphasizes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• 7+ years of experience with utility systems such as steam, refrigeration/ammonia, compressed air, HVAC, compressed gases, and water systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other project disciplines to ensure integrated solutions.
• Prepare equipment specifications and technical documentation.
• Partner with clients, vendors, and suppliers to generate cost estimates and contribute to proposal development.
• Create mass and energy balances to support process design.
• Produce process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Compile equipment lists, line lists, and points of connection (POC) documentation.
• Define operational parameters and performance criteria.
• Work closely with designers to translate engineering concepts into drawings.
• Author installation scope documents for construction teams.
• Provide support during on-site construction and installation phases.
• Assist with system checkout and start-up activities.
• Mentor and coach junior team members as needed.
• Conduct on-site surveys to assess existing conditions.
• Travel as required, with an anticipated average of 30% annually.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

While we prefer that this individual work out of our Green Bay office, we are open to remote candidates as well as those located near any of our 33 office locations.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registered Professional Engineer

• Industrial HVAC and Dust Control experience

• Ability to travel as needed with anticipation of 30% annually

The base compensation listed for this job posting reflects a general range for the posted position. Base compensation will vary based on factors such as: years of experience, location, level of responsibility and licenses/certifications. In addition to base compensation, Foth members may be eligible to receive bonuses through our Earned Performance Incentive program. All employees are eligible for On-the-Spot bonuses. Exempt members are also eligible for either quarterly and/or annual bonuses.
