Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering in Roseville, CA is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to perform engineering duties on projects across industrial plants. The role requires P&ID development, energy balances, and equipment sizing, with strong CAD skills and cross-functional collaboration.

The candidate will lead documentation and specifications, manage construction activities and schedules, and drive startup and commissioning of process and HVAC systems, with travel up to 40% to regional sites.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Mechanical, Chemical or similar discipline.
• At least four years of engineering experience.
• High level of competency with at least one 3D CAD software like Revit, Plant 3D, AutoCAD MEP, Inventor, SolidWorks, MicroStation etc.
• High level of competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project software.
• Ability to travel to project sites (up to 40%).
• Ability to stay organized in the execution of project work.
• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, clients, contractors, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Develop P&IDs.
• Perform mass and energy balance calculations.
• Perform site investigations.
• Size and select pumps, pipes, ducts, conveyors, and other equipment.
• Generate engineering and construction documents, drawings and specifications.
• Manage site construction activities including coordinating tasks, supervising trades, and communication with vendors and facilities.
• Manage project construction budget and schedule.
• Start up and commissioning of process and HVAC systems.
