LVI Associates seeks a Mechanical Piping Layout & Coordination Specialist to develop, coordinate, and field-verify fabrication-level piping layouts. The role focuses on translating project requirements into constructible layouts and coordinating with field teams.
The ideal candidate has BIM/VDC coord experience, strong Revit skills, and familiarity with Navisworks and AutoCAD Fabrication MEP. Office and field work are both involved.
We are seeking a Mechanical Piping Layout & Coordination Specialist to support the development, coordination, and field implementation of mechanical piping systems. This is not an engineering or designer position. The primary focus is creating accurate, constructible, fabrication-level layouts and models while supporting coordination between the office, fabrication, and field teams.
The ideal candidate understands how mechanical piping systems are installed and can translate field conditions and project requirements into practical, coordinated solutions.
The ideal candidate can look at a mechanical system and understand how it needs to be built, not simply how it appears in a model or drawing.
This person should be comfortable working both in the office and in the field, developing coordinated piping layouts, reviewing models, using scanning and measurement technology to verify existing conditions, and working directly with field and fabrication teams to ensure the final solution is practical and constructible.
We are a forward-looking company that is continually looking for better ways to work. We actively seek to improve our workflows, efficiency, structure, organization, and use of technology.
The ideal candidate will bring more than technical skills to the position. We are looking for someone who is curious, proactive, and willing to challenge the status quo, someone who can identify inefficiencies, ask "is there a better way to do this?", and bring fresh, outside-the-box ideas to the team.
This role provides an opportunity to help shape how we approach BIM/VDC coordination, fabrication, field verification, data management, content creation, and project workflows. We value people who are willing to share ideas, experiment with new technology and processes, and work collaboratively to turn good ideas into better ways of doing things.
A background in mechanical piping fabrication, installation, BIM/VDC coordination, construction layout, or field coordination is highly valuable. Engineering credentials are not required.
Success in this role means delivering accurate, coordinated, and constructible mechanical piping information that can be confidently fabricated and installed in the field.
The successful candidate will help bridge the gap between existing field conditions, 3D models, fabrication, and installation, while continually looking for ways to make the process more efficient, organized, and effective.
Most importantly, this person will contribute not only to the work itself, but to improving how the work gets done.
