Overview

Since 1996, RQ Construction, LLC has been a leading player in commercial and governmental Design‑Build economy. We now have a national presence with current projects spanning coast to coast and internationally, including North Carolina. We specialize in fast‑track projects in new commercial construction for both public and private clients, with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.

Position

Mechanical and Piping Insulators – Camp Lejeune, NC (Self‑perform team, Davis‑Bacon prevailing wage for military base)

Responsibilities

Insulators will apply insulating materials or ductwork, or other mechanical systems to control and maintain temperature. Work involves technical application of mechanical principles using appropriate equipment and implementing required safety practices in support of RQ’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Pay & Benefits

Pay: $19.19–$35 per hour

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or G.E.D. is the minimal education required. Should be supplemented by completion of a Union, private (in‑house), military, or trade school apprenticeship program that includes theory and on‑job work.
• 4 or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience as a journey‑level mechanical piping insulator (apprenticeship preferred) in a commercial or facilities operations setting is required; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred.

Other Requirements

All candidates must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire. Additionally, all candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check for access to a job site at a military base when applicable.
