Job summary

Ross Group seeks a Mechanical Designer II to deliver piping design and drafting for diverse clients in the oil and gas, industrial, and commercial sectors. You will develop construction documents, coordinate with engineers and construction personnel, and produce CAD drawings from conceptual design through detailed engineering.

The role requires 3–6 years of piping design/drafting experience and proficiency with AutoCAD 2024 and CADWorx2023; Navisworks 3D piping experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Piping design/drafting experience required (3-6 years).
• Diverse project experience across clients and types.
• Ability to plan, organize, and communicate with team and client reps.
• Willingness to work extended hours to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2024 and CADWorx2023; Navisworks 3D piping knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide piping design for a variety of clients; collaborate with lead piping designer and lead engineers on drawing packages.
• Develop design/construction documents: PFDs, P&IDs, plans/sections, piping drawings, isometrics, BOMs.
• Incorporate cost, customer service, quality, schedule, and safety into the design from start to finish.
• Address questions and issues during construction.
• Pursue best practices, update internal procedures, and network to stay informed of new developments.
