Job summary

Hargrove & Associates Inc. is seeking a Mechanical/Piping Designer in Memphis, TN. The role performs routine design tasks under close supervision, developing piping drawings from sketches and engineering information while aligning with project standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in mechanical/piping drafting, familiarity with P&ID and GA drawings, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation. A strong team player with good communication skills is essential for field support and startup

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.
  • Knowledge and application of piping materials in respect to drafting.
  • Drafting of utility and process piping drawings, P&ID's and GA's.
  • Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and Microstation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
  • Drafting and design activities in developing piping drawings from sketches and engineering information.
  • Assist in field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems, communicate with client personnel and assist in construction.
  • Preparing material take-offs from piping drawings.
  • Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
  • On-site assistance during startup.

This level is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex mechanical/piping assignments. This work will be performed under close supervision.**Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:*** Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.* Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.* Accomplishing the drafting and design activities in developing piping drawings from sketches and engineering information.* Assisting in accomplishing field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems, communicate with client personnel and assist in construction.* Preparing material take-offs from piping drawings.* Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.* On-site assistance during startup.# Ideal Background**Education:** High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
