Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking a mechanical/piping CAD designer to perform routine design of less complex assignments under close supervision. You will assist in larger projects, draft piping drawings, and help with field design to verify conditions and communicate with clients.

Familiarity with CAD standards and material take-offs is required. Ideal candidate has 2+ years of piping drafting experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years of industrial experience in mechanical/piping drafting and design.
• Knowledge of piping materials and drafting of piping drawings, P&ID’s and GA’s.
• Familiar with 2D AutoCAD and Microstation; CAD drafting standards.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook; strong communication skills.

What You'll Be DoingJob Scope: Generally responsible for performing routine design of less complex design assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This level is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex mechanical/piping assignments. This work will be performed under close supervision.Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.Accomplishing the drafting and design activities in developing piping drawings from sketches and engineering information.Assisting in accomplishing field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems, communicate with client personnel and assist in construction.Preparing material take-offs from piping drawings.Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.On-site assistance during startup.Ideal BackgroundEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
