Air Comfort, Inc. is seeking a skilled mechanical technician to install, assemble, repair, and maintain piping systems and mechanical equipment. You will read blueprints, perform MIG/TIG/STICK welding, and troubleshoot to keep systems running safely and efficiently on job sites.

Applicants should have strong piping knowledge, welding techniques, and the ability to work with multiple trades. Field-based role with travel and a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in pipefitting, welding, or mechanical work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project drawings.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsabilités

• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to verify installation requirements.
• Install, assemble, and repair piping systems, valves, pumps, and machinery.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on steel, stainless steel, and copper.
• Cut, thread, bend, and fit pipe according to specs.

Job Summary:

Responsible for installing, assembling, repairing, and maintaining piping systems and mechanical equipment. Responsibilities includes but not limited to reading blueprints and project drawings, performing MIG, TIG, and stick welding, troubleshooting mechanical systems, and ensuring all work is completed safely and according to company standards. Strong knowledge of piping systems, welding techniques, and mechanical equipment, along with excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and professional job site.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and project documents; verify measurements and installation requirements.

• Ensure the jobsite is kept clean, organized, and operated in a professional manner at all times.

• Install, assemble, and repair piping systems, valves, pumps, and mechanical equipment

• Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on various materials including steel, stainless steel, and copper piping

• Cut, thread, bend, and fit pipe according to project specifications

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and equipment

• Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment and systems

• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, company standards, and applicable codes

• Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and pipefitting machinery safely and efficiently

• Collaborate with supervisors, project managers, and team members to complete projects on schedule

• It is understood that the main responsibilities of a mechanic are not limited to piping components and that mechanics are to assist/install all necessary mechanical systems as required by contract or project specifications.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.

• Able to pass a background check and drug screening.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.

• Ability to identify and solve problems independently and efficiently.

• Strong knowledge of piping systems, welding techniques, and mechanical equipment

• Strong communication and coordination skills when working with multiple trades.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pipefitting, welding, or mechanical work

Physical Requirements: During a 10-hour workday, must be able to:

• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs.

• Stand, kneel, bend, climb, squat, and reach above shoulder for extended periods.

• Use upper extremities for grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine hand manipulations.

• Operate power tools and mechanical equipment safely and effectively.

Work Environment:

Field-based position with regular travel to job site locations.

Safely navigate uneven surfaces.

Work in confined spaces and at varying heights as required by the job.

Work outdoors in extreme conditions (heat, cold, etc.) and in tight or confined spaces

when required.
