Job summary

Automatic Pool Covers, Inc is seeking a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and manufacture automatic pool cover systems. You will improve product designs, enhance manufacturing efficiency, troubleshoot production issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on engineering with attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, collaborating with production, quality, purchasing, and customer support teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with sheet metal, aluminum fabrication, machining, and mechanical assemblies preferred.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and improve mechanical components and assemblies for automatic pool cover systems.
• Create and revise 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and BOMs.
• Develop manufacturing processes that improve quality, safety, and productivity.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through product and process improvements.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing by troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Quality to investigate product failures and identify root causes.
• Work with Purchasing and suppliers on component sourcing, quality improvements, and cost reductions.
• Support new product development from concept through production launch.
• Develop work instructions, assembly procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, and product testing.
• Ensure products comply with applicable engineering standards and safety requirements.
