LANXESS Deutschland GmbH in Kalama, WA is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to safely execute mechanical maintenance on process machinery. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain equipment, while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and OSHA requirements.
Position levels I–III reflect candidate skills and experience, with a focus on equipment installation, lubrication, seals, and preventive maintenance.
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe and reliable execution of mechanical maintenance activities in an industrial manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the Technician diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, installs, and maintains mechanical equipment and process machinery. Candidates will be considered for Mechanical Maintenance Technician I, II, or III based on their skills, demonstrated competencies, education, certifications, and relevant experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas, as applicable: equipment installation/alignment, flanged joint closure, lubrication, scaffolding, packing and mechanical seals, precision measurement, equipment rebuilds, fabrication, and crane operations/rigging. Competency may be demonstrated through certification, company-approved testing, or verified experience.
The assigned level will be based on the candidate's overall qualifications, demonstrated competencies, and relevant experience.
