Job summary

Safa-Goods-LLC in Punta Gorda, FL is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, mechanical troubleshooting and general facility upkeep to support warehouse operations. The role is onsite and reports to the Operations Manager.

You will inspect and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, operate equipment safely, diagnose issues, and perform basic vehicle and building maintenance to keep the site running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on mechanical or facility maintenance experience.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and safe repair practices essential.
• Experience with hand and power tools is required.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Safely operate equipment and respond to maintenance work orders.
• Perform basic automotive and building maintenance tasks.
• Keep outdoor/indoor spaces clean and safe; assist with general upkeep.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Associate is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, minor repairs, mechanical repairs, equipment troubleshooting, and general facility maintenance to ensure a clean, safe, and operational workspace. This role supports warehouse operations by addressing maintenance needs, responding to work orders, and keeping building systems in working order.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, operate, and perform basic repairs on forklifts, pallet jacks, company vehicles, and other warehouse or mechanical equipment
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, company vehicles, and other warehouse or maintenance equipment as required for the position
• Diagnose basic mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair needs
• Perform basic automotive maintenance and repairs as qualified, including minor mechanical repairs and routine vehicle upkeep
• Perform basic repairs to doors, shelving, fixtures, storage racks, and other building components
• Maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, loading areas, parking areas, and surrounding property
• Perform outdoor maintenance and other physical tasks in varying weather conditions
• Replace light bulbs, air filters, and other routine facility maintenance items as needed
• Assist with general facility upkeep and maintenance projects throughout the warehouse and office
• Assist with trash, recycling, and removal or movement of large items as needed

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on mechanical, equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, or similar experience
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and identify basic equipment problems
• Experience using common hand tools and power tools
• Basic understanding of preventative maintenance and safe equipment repair practices
• Ability to follow instructions while also working independently and taking initiative when maintenance needs are identified
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and equipment issues
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to keeping the facility safe and functional

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, automotive, industrial, or similar environment
• Familiarity with basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or facility maintenance

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 60 lbs
• Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and working in various physical positions

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including Florida heat

• Full-time, Monday-Friday
• Overtime as needed; weekends as needed
• This position is classified as non-exempt, meaning you are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with company policy and applicable law
