Indiana Packers Corporation in Delphi, IN seeks a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support production by minimizing downtime and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on processing equipment. 2nd and 3rd shifts with overtime and weekend work, hours vary by team.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience maintaining mechanical drives, chain drives and conveyors.
• Welding: TIG/Stick.
• Able to read prints, schematics and other documents.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician 2nd and 3rd Shift

Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) is a dynamic fresh pork processor based in Delphi, Indiana, is looking for a motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work in our world-class processing facility. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the production operation by minimizing equipment downtime and completing preventative and corrective maintenance of production equipment.

This Mechanical Maintenance position is needed for 8-10 hours a day, including mandatory overtime and weekends. Shift hours for this position vary based on the team assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Performs mechanical tasks including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment
• Schedules and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on various processing equipment
• Diagnoses, replaces or repairs parts, performs tests and adjustments to resolve and prevent issues with various facility equipment and tools
• Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Commitment to following safety policies and practices while upholding the company policies and ethical standards
• Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers by maintaining a positive work atmosphere.

Qualifications:

• Minimum two years of Industrial maintenance experience
• Experience in maintaining mechanical drives, chain drives and conveyor systems
• TIG/Stick welding and fabrication
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends as needed
• Must be able to read and comprehend various prints, schematics and other company related documents
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and gear boxes preferred
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to complete confined space, working at heights and all relevant safety training
• Must possess personal hand tools for the position
• Must be able to read, write and understand instructions, warnings, labels in English effectively
• Hazmat certification a plus
• Offers are contingent on applicants ability to successfully pass a skill test, physical and drug screen.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.

Physical Demand:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The position lifts heavy objects up to 75 lbs., walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina and vision.

This Mechanical Maintenance Technician position earns a competitive pay of up to $36.40 per hour, pay will vary based on prior experience.
