Job summary

Dominion Terminal Associates LLP is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Millwright at their Newport News facility. The position offers a full-time role with a competitive salary between $28.00 and $40.00 per hour. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to read mechanical drawings, perform repairs, and operate various machinery including cranes and forklifts.

The role requires at least 4 years of Millwright experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must also be adaptable and willing to learn, while demonstrating a strong commitment to safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience as a Millwright required.
• Ability to perform welding tasks in various techniques.
• Must pass a Federal background check for TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation and repair of various mechanical components.

Mechanical Maintenance Millwright

Dominion Terminal Associates LLP a world class coal shipping and ground storage facility which has been in business for over 40 years is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Millwright! The successful applicant will be required to multi-task and change tasks at any given moment while maintaining a good attitude. The position requires an individual to be open-minded and adaptable to change. In addition to the skills the individual brings, he/she must have the potential and desire to learn new skills, because DTA’s Mechanics are highly versatile in their abilities. The candidate must be able to work safely, be highly reliable, and diligent in their cleanup efforts.

Requirements:

• Read and interpret drawings, procedures, and manuals.
• Properly fill out time cards, parts lists, and pm work lists both on paper and in Maximo.
• Installation and repair various types of bearings, seals, sleeves, hubs, and couplings.
• Alignment of motors, gearboxes, pumps, pulleys, and brakes, using dial indicators and or laser alignment equipment.
• Welding including arc, mig, and tig.
• Steel fitting, including accurate cutting with oxygen-acetylene torch, plasma arc, oxygen lance, slice torch, and track torch.
• Installation and repair of hydraulic system components.
• Troubleshoot gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, clutches, and brakes.
• Operate various types of equipment: Cranes, forklifts, man lifts, front-end loaders, trucks, and dozers.
• Applicant must be able to pass a Federal background check in order to receive a TWIC.
