We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance General Foreman to join our team. This position supports and leads field maintenance activities within the facility, reporting directly to the Maintenance Superintendent. The Mechanical Maintenance General Foreman oversees daily maintenance operations, ensures work is performed safely and efficiently, and provides guidance to craft foremen and maintenance crews. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, exceptional leadership abilities, and a steadfast commitment to safety, reliability, and quality.

Qualification Standards
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance and Mechanical disciplines preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5–8 years of industrial maintenance and mechanical turnaround experience.
    • At least 2–3 years of experience in a foreman or supervisory role within an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industry environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, compressors, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
    • Detailed understanding of piping systems, pipe fabrication, pipe installation, and welding procedures.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
    • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking work orders and maintenance schedules.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Craft certifications in Millwright, Boilermaker, Instrumentation, etc.
    • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or similar credential is a plus.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Commitment to safety and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance-related software.
Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Operations
  • Direct and coordinate daily maintenance work activities to ensure efficient execution of work orders, repairs, and inspections.
  • Support the Maintenance Superintendent in developing and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials for maintenance activities.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical issues.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to craft foremen and maintenance crews across multiple disciplines, including Boilermakers, Millwrights, Mechanics, and Oilers.
  • Oversee Boilermakers in the repair, replacement, and fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
  • Direct Millwrights in the installation, alignment, and maintenance of rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, turbines, and gearboxes.
  • Lead Mechanics in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, conveyors, and hydraulic or pneumatic components.
  • Manage Oilers responsible for lubrication routes, oil sampling, and maintaining proper fluid levels on rotating and mechanical equipment.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and verify that work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Support training and development of craft personnel to enhance technical skills and job performance.
  • Communicate daily maintenance priorities and coordinate with operations to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Equipment & Facility Management
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of plant equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Verify accurate completion of maintenance documentation and work orders.
  • Support equipment reliability initiatives and assist in planning maintenance shutdowns or turnarounds.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout maintenance operations.
  • Ensure all personnel adhere to OSHA and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations as required.
  • Continuous Improvement & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Superintendent, Operations, and Engineering teams to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Support implementation of best practices for maintenance excellence.
