Carter Caves State Resort Park is seeking a skilled and dependable individual to join our maintenance team as a full-time Mechanical Maintenance & Operations Technician I.

• Heating and air-conditioning systems
• Refrigeration and ventilation equipment
• Electrical systems
• Plumbing and sewer systems
• Other mechanical equipment throughout the park

Additional responsibilities include assisting contractors, monitoring equipment performance, completing repair and inspection records, responding to emergency maintenance needs, and performing other assigned duties.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.

Working Conditions

May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
