Job summary

Fortna seeks a supervisor to assist with leading the mechanical installation of parcel conveying systems. Plan and coordinate crew efforts under supervision, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient work.

The role requires guiding 5–10 person crews and understanding the scope and specifications of the project. The ideal candidate has 3 years of supervisory experience in conveyor systems, a high school diploma, and the ability to travel long durations to diverse sites.

Qualifications

• 3 years of supervisory experience in conveyor systems or similar industrial installations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of power transmission equipment, steel fabrication, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the mechanical crew.
• Fill in for superintendent and follow plan in superintendent’s absence.
• Capable of leading 5-10 person crew with own work area and/or small projects.
• Understand SOW and recognize extras to the superintendent.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
• Provide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors.
• Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost saving measures.
• Take corrective actions as needed.
• Read and understand plans and specifications.
