Job summary

Framatome in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Mechanical Lead Engineer to lead complex design, development and analysis tasks for nuclear energy projects. You will ensure compliance with standards, review work products, and develop value-added solutions while mentoring team members.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years of related experience, and strong proficiency in ANSYS or GT STRUDL/SASSI.

  • Ensures compliance with government regulations and engineering standards.
  • Applies technical techniques and criteria for complex adaptations.
  • Develops new or adapted products/methods to provide value to customers.
  • Understands impact of work on internal and external teams.

Mechanical Lead Engineer

Location: US-NC-Charlotte

What You'll Do Day-To-Day
  • Performs a variety of more complex non-standard engineering and new-to-you assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks and resolution of field problems, and resolution of quality events.
  • Performs independent review of department work products, risk assessments, Apparent Cause Analyses, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis etc.
  • Proposes solutions and work scope to Supervisor, works autonomously on most assignments and solutions.
  • Ensures compliance with government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards.
  • Independently evaluates, selects and applies a variety of technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making more complex adaptations and modifications for tasks not previously performed.
  • Develops new or adapted products, methods, systems or models to provide added value solutions to customers.
  • Understands impact of work on other organizations internally and externally.
  • Works on special projects, as directed.
  • Provides suggestions for improving processes and implementing process improvements.
  • Actively participates in technical communications with internal customers.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Familiarity with supporting piping and stress analysis

Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $101,000 - $138,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
