Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions in Nashua, NH seeks a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support mechanical testing and reliability assessments of connectors and components. You will work in the Mechanical Integrity Laboratory performing measurements and data collection using precision equipment.

Responsibilities include recording data in Excel, generating graphs, and communicating results to Manufacturing and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years postsecondary education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Strong mechanical, geometric, numerical, and statistical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and block diagrams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Experience with Instron equipment and Bluehill Universal is a plus.
  • Experience with MeasureMind OGP equipment (or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Mechanical Integrity Laboratory testing connectors to ensure mechanical reliability.
  • Obtain low level resistance measurements with a 4-Wire Meter.
  • Obtain force measurements using Instron equipment.
  • Assist with repeatable measurements for experiments and characterizations.
  • Assist with repeatable cycle or stress testing using fixtures and equipment.
  • Record, store, and process data in Excel to create graphs and reports with PowerPoint.
  • Keep track of all work and experiments performed.
  • Interact as needed with Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Display caution around highly sensitive equipment and perform with consistency and precision.
