Your Role:

The LS Global EHS team is comprised of regional EHS leaders dedicated to the business-level implementation of corporate EHS governance programs. As part of this extended team, you will support the Life Science Process Safety Center of Excellence by developing our business’s Mechanical Integrity implementation program.


As the Mechanical Integrity Leader (Life Science Process Safety Center of Excellence), you will be responsible for developing a global program and providing guidance and direction to both business leadership and operational sites. Key tasks include:

  • Assessing the applicability of Mechanical Integrity corporate governance documents at Life Science operation sites. Key topics include risk-based inspection, relief device design (including mechanical specifications), relief device inspection, machinery maintenance and inspection, and ventilation maintenance.
  • Developing business-wide Mechanical Integrity program proposals, including estimation of resource needs, compliance options, and timelines, while collaborating with Engineering & Technology and Operations organizations for implementation.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to individual sites and projects (must be familiar with global RAGAGEPs and regulations concerning Mechanical Integrity).
  • Developing and delivering training on Mechanical Integrity practices to affected personnel.
  • Managing internal stakeholders and reporting to management with full transparency on project or program status concerning safety, budget, schedule, scope, and risks.
  • Liaising with the corporate governance team and representing business needs in governance document development pertaining to Mechanical Integrity.

This position offers flexible work arrangements, allowing for hybrid, remote, or onsite options.


Who You Are:
We are seeking a leader in Mechanical Integrity to develop a business-wide implementation program. An ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and demonstrated leadership in Mechanical Integrity practice through past career roles. The candidate should be stakeholder and safety-focused, with a desire to engage existing teams, promote best practices, and increase overall knowledge of Mechanical Integrity principles within the Life Science business.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS inMechanical Engineering or related field or no degree with 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with responsibility for building and implementing Mechanical Integrity-related programs at a site or business level, with 5+ years of working knowledge of global Process Safety regulatory programs (e.g., OSHA PSM, Seveso III, COMAH, AQ/T 3034-2022).
  • Familiarity with Asset Integrity or CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, etc.).
  • Demonstrated history of delivering technical and awareness training on MI topics.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support site MI programs as needed. (Anticipated <15% annually)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to build professional relationships with various levels of leadership and site management through digital and in-person platforms.
  • Ability to develop and influence maintenance personnel and foster the development of a community of practice for MI practitioners within the Life Science business.
  • Experience implementing MI programs domestically and internationally
  • Proven track record of working in large matrix organizationenvironments with various stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of formal project management processes and tools, with the ability to utilize these tools to initiate, manage, and close complex projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation and meeting management skills.
  • Ability to understand and provide direction to ensure compliance with policies, codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Familiarity with global Mechanical Integrity related RAGAGEP and regulation.
  • Established track record with standards, implementation of standards, and tracking performance as it relates to PSM Mechanical Integrity or equipment reliability for process piping, vessels, relief valves, heat exchangers, pumps, or other critical assets.
  • Experience in one or more of the following chemical manufacturing disciplines: solvents, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biologics.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to don standard plant PPE, including but not limited to head, eye, hand, body, and foot protection for an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to enter hazardous areas (possible presence of flammables or combustible dust) with appropriate PPE

Pay Range for this position:$103,000– $154,400

Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data.
