Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer (MIE) to lead MI program development, inspections, and risk assessments for midstream gas gathering and processing operations. You will interpret ASME/API standards, support audits, and guide cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability.

The role requires 5+ years of related experience, a BS in engineering, and strong communication skills for collaboration with Operations, Construction, and EHS groups. Travel is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Knowledge of midstream gas gathering and processing operations.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Guide Operations, Construction, Technical Services, and Process Engineering to improve MI and reliability.
  • Develop and implement inspection programs to maximize on-stream time of major equipment.
  • Manage MI inspections, SOWs, bids, schedules, asset health, QA/QC, and IDMS records.
  • Provide QA/QC of contractor inspection activities per MI standards and API/ASME requirements.
  • Lead MI decisions by integrating code requirements with practical midstream knowledge.
