Job summary

Stratasys Direct Manufacturing seeks a Mechanical Inspector II to oversee inspections from raw materials through final product, ensuring adherence to quality standards, customer specs, and purchase orders. The role uses GD&T, CMM tools, and AS9102 methods in a 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 2pm-11pm).

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of inspection experience.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work orders.
• AS9102 FAI experience preferred.
• Computer proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections per work instructions and PO requirements.
• Document inspections and NCRs; ensure dispositions are completed.
• Ensure compliance with AS9102 and quality standards throughout manufacturing.
• Assist in maintaining quality records and supporting ISO 9001/AS9100 activities.
• Support MRB actions and implement quality improvements.
• Follow safety policies and Stratasys Behaviors.

Stratasys Direct Manufacturing (SDM) is seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector II to play a critical role in ensuring product quality from start to finish. In this position, you’ll support inspections across every stage of the manufacturing process—from raw materials to final product—while ensuring strict compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and purchase orders.

2nd Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2pm - 11pm

What You Will Be Doing

• Perform incoming inspection and testing as required by the work instructions and PO’s with an understanding of quality requirements, specification and purchase orders
• Perform in-process inspection and testing as required by the Work Instructions and drawings
• Perform final inspection and testing as required by the Work Instructions and drawings
• Basic understanding of GD&T and use of portable CMM. (FARO, Romer, etc.)
• Perform inspection and document in compliance with AS9102
• Create NCR’s and ensure dispositions are completed
• Enforce company quality standards with special regard to customer satisfaction; product accuracy and appearance; and on time deliveries
• Assist manufacturing departments in implementing quality systems such as: ISO 9001 and AS9100 internal and external monitoring; continuous process improvement; employee training
• Assist in maintaining Quality Records resulting from inspection/test
• Participate in 5 "S" activities as assigned
• Assist in MRB activities
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Demonstrate commitments to Stratasys Behaviors by leading, acting, and modeling these values
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the department or manager

Must Have For This Role

As a part of Stratasys, this position requires access to information and/or technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of inspection experience
• Use of inspection tools
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, work orders, and related job documents
• AS9102 FAI experience
• Computer proficiency with MS Windows, MS Office and software
• Excellent personal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well with others
• Basic understanding of Polyworks (or equivalent) software

Nice To Have

• Two or more years of experience in the inspection field
• Previous experience working in an ISO AS 9001 organization
• Intro to GD&T Class
• Net-Inspect portal experience
• Inspection software experience
