Job summary

Calmax Technology, Inc. in Tualatin, OR is seeking a Mechanical Inspector (CMM Programmer) on 2nd shift (3:30PM - 12:00AM). You will review drawings, verify tolerances, and ensure parts meet specifications, while following quality plans.

Responsibilities include visual and dimensional inspections, detecting defects, approving finished products, and performing in-process and final inspections with minimal supervision; CMM verifications using Zeiss and Mitutoyo MCOSMOS is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a precision machine shop environment preferred.
  • Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Ability to interpret written or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints to understand required measurements, materials, and tolerances.
  • Ensure parts are produced according to blueprints and verify specifications.
  • Receive and adhere to Quality Plans and examine materials or products for surface defects or flaws.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Check for defects such as cracks, burrs, or improper finishes that could affect function or customer perception.
  • Approve finished products, conduct visual and measurement tests, and return products for re-work as needed.
  • Perform corrective actions, internal audits, and first article, in-process and final inspection on assemblies.
  • Initiate and complete all quality-related records and documents with minimal supervision.
  • Perform precision surface plate and CMM inspection verifications on parts, components, assemblies, and materials.
  • Construct complex inspection set-ups and perform required inspections to determine product acceptance.

Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Inspector (CMM Programmer) to join our 2nd shift in Tualatin, OR. (3:30PM - 12:00AM)

Mechanical Inspector Responsibilities:
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints to understand the required measurements, materials, and tolerances
  • Ensure parts are produced according to these blueprints and verify specifications
  • Receive and adhere to the Quality Plans provided by the quality engineers and examine material(s) or product(s) for surface defects or any flaws
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure that parts meet specifications and tolerances
  • Check for defects such as cracks, burrs, or improper finishes that could affect the functionality of part or that may affect the customer's perception of the product value
  • Approve finished products, conduct visual and measurement tests, return products for re-work, confirm re-work materials for workmanship and, conformance to the quality plan
  • Perform corrective actions, internal audits, first article, in-process and final inspection on assemblies
  • Initiate and complete all quality (Inspection) related records and documents with minimal supervision
  • Perform precision surface plate and CMM inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials
  • Construct complex inspection set-up(s) and perform required inspections (using set-up) to determine product acceptance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Experience in a precision machine shop environment
  • Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Preferred Skills:
  • Training in basic shop and measurement math, including linear measurement, metrics, algebra and geometry
  • Familiarity with ISO documentation and processes is a big plus
  • Experience CMM Programming with Zeiss and Mitutoyo MCOSMOS is a plus
Pay:
  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Employees on the 2nd shift receive an addition 10% differential towards their pay
    • 10% differential = Hourly Pay X .10
  • Eligible for Overtime
