Job Description

Inspect incoming hardware utilizing Calypso software, prints, CAD models, inspection plans, engineering drawings, purchase orders, operation sheets, and specifications. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments to verify compliance on dimensions, angles, radii, contours, holes, surface finishes, concentricity, hardness, material, and plating.

• Check parts visually for burrs, finish, and defects that could lead to rejection.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify compliance on specified dimensions and features.
• Proficient with sine plates, comparators, profile meters, and surface plate layout using height gauges.
• Perform simple to complex setups on surface plates with height gauges, gauge blocks, sine plates, and indicators.
• Maintain daily logs and initiate non-conformance documentation for parts not meeting requirements.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years’ experience inspecting aircraft components.
• Experience generating RMA, NCR, and CAR reports.
• Ability to inspect dimensions as specified.
• Experience with CMMs, specifically Zeiss Calypso.
• Ability to interpret safety policies, operating, and maintenance instructions.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic math and measurement conversions.
• Understanding of AS9100 requirements.
• Ability to calibrate gauges and inspection equipment.
• Experience in interpreting GD&T features.
• Experience working in aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of inspection procedures and documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills for Zeiss CMM machines.
• Hands-on experience with measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMMs.
