You’ll work with micrometers, CMM, vision systems, and optical comparators, perform first-piece through final inspections, document results, and collaborate with operators and the Quality Manager. Monday–Friday, first shift, onsite.

MECHANICAL INSPECTOR – PRECISION MANUFACTURING

Location: Watertown, MA | Onsite

Salary: $65,000–$85,000 annually, based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift (Flexible Start Time)

Employment: Full-Time

Key Requirements: 1–5 years of manufacturing inspection experience, blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measuring tools.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to perform precision inspections in a high-volume manufacturing environment in Watertown, MA.

This hands-on role involves inspecting machined components, verifying dimensional accuracy, and ensuring parts meet engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has strong measurement skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience working with precision inspection equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Perform first-piece, daily AQL in-process, and final inspections
• Measure precision components against engineering drawings and specifications
• Use micrometers, pin and thread gauges, drop indicators, and optical comparators
• Operate CMM, vision measurement systems, and measuring microscopes
• Inspect small components under magnification to identify defects
• Document inspection results using manual and computerized systems
• Communicate quality discrepancies to operators and the Quality Manager
• Maintain and verify calibration of inspection equipment

What You’ll Bring

• 1–5 years of mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong ability to read technical drawings and interpret GD&T
• Hands-on experience with micrometers, indicators, gauges, and precision measuring tools
• Ability to set up accurate, repeatable high-precision measurements
• Experience using optical comparators and measuring microscopes
• Familiarity with CMM and vision measurement systems (training available)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to perform repetitive inspections in a high-volume environment

Compensation & Benefits

• $65,000–$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience
• Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule
