Job summary

HireTalent is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer for a 12-month on-site contract at a large automotive facility in Georgetown, KY. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years of industrial construction experience, OSHA 10, and familiarity with IBC/NEC/NFPA codes; proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam is expected.

AutoCAD/Bluebeam and MS Project knowledge is preferred. You will lead commissioning, review submittals, coordinate testing and handover, and manage field reports

Qualifications

• Experience with startup/commissioning, submittals, RFIs, and field reporting.
• Knowledge of building codes (IBC/NEC/NESC/NFPA/ASME) and industry standards.

Duration: 12 Months + Possible Extension/ FTE

Location: Georgetown, KY (On-site)

We're hiring a Mechanical Field Engineer for a 12-month on-site contract supporting construction and commissioning at a large automotive manufacturing facility in Georgetown, KY.

What you'll do:

• Facilitate mechanical building system startups and commissioning activities.
• Review product/equipment submittals, shop drawings, design drawings, specs, and contractor RFIs.
• Coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Conduct continuous work progress and quality inspections.
• Oversee mechanical contractors for schedule milestones, quality, and code compliance.
• Coordinate weekend and plant shutdown work, utility outages, and contractor scheduling.
• Manage daily construction and RFI support; prepare field status reports for Project Managers.

What you need:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical).
• 10+ years of experience in industrial or commercial construction projects.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and industry standards (IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, FM).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project.
• Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience.
• Ability to stand, stoop, walk, and climb in large industrial plants for extended periods.

Additional requirements:

• OSHA 30 certification
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud/Build

Details: 12-month contract · On-site, Georgetown, KY · 8 hours/day, ~20% overtime · ~10% travel (within the US; occasional Canada/Mexico, not at the start).
