We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong mechanical installation experience to support utility-scale renewable projects including solar, BESS, and wind. In this role, you'll lead onsite oversight of pile driving, tracker installation, module placement, inverters, and BESS mechanical systems, ensure work aligns with plans and specifications, support QA/QC efforts, and help keep construction activities safe, efficient, and on schedule. You'll coordinate with EPC partners, OEMs, and subcontractors, support inspections and site walks, resolve field issues, and maintain clear documentation while serving as EPS's onsite representative.
Location & Travel Requirement: This is a full-time, onsite role. Candidates must be available to work five days per week at project sites in the outside the greater Phoenix area.
What You’ll Do
Leading day-to-day onsite oversight of the installation of piles, trackers, modules, inverters, and BESS mechanical systems on utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Monitoring the delivery, staging, and tracking of Owner Supplied Equipment and mechanical materials onsite.
Ensuring mechanical QA/QC of pile, tracker, inverter, and BESS mechanical installation to verify work is completed safely and according to project specifications.
Interfacing with OEMs and commissioning teams to coordinate installation requirements, resolve technical issues, and support system startup activities.
Managing mechanical NCRs and corrective actions, including root cause analysis and resolution tracking.
Tracking testing and turnover documentation throughout the project lifecycle to support mechanical completion and closeout.
Ensuring compliance with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and industry standards.
Conducting regular site walks to monitor installation progress, identify potential issues, and help keep projects on schedule.
Reviewing work plans, construction methods, safety procedures, and schedules for mechanical and general construction activities.
Supporting inspections, punch walks, permit closeouts, and compliance activities.
Maintaining accurate project documentation related to site conditions, inspections, field decisions, and project progress.
Serving as EPS's onsite representative while building strong working relationships with clients, utilities, AHJs, EPCs, contractors, and community stakeholders.
