Job summary

Prairie Mechanical Corporation in Omaha, NE is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to bid and manage mechanical projects for our customers. You will determine scope and contents of the project estimate, and partner with subcontractors and vendors to calculate labor, equipment, and material costs to prepare precise estimates.

• 3–5 years of mechanical estimating experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems design and installation.
• Skilled in reading drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and estimating programs.
• Good time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine scope of work and contents of the project estimate.
• Partner with subcontractors and vendors to calculate costs of labor, equipment, and material.
• Maintain relationships with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Research cost data to prepare bids and guide future estimates.
• Analyze awarded and lost estimates to identify opportunities for improvement.
