Job summary

Honda Dev. and Mfg. of Am.,LLC is seeking a Technician to support production equipment installations, maturation activities, and tooling across North American plants. You will assist with new technology transfer and provide production support to manufacturing teams in North America.

Minimum two years of mechanical experience plus a high school diploma or GED are required. Expect travel to job sites, weekend/holiday support, and opportunities for growth within Honda’s manufacturing network.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment and/or software runs properly for production by following standard procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair tooling; assist with independent troubleshooting of low-risk items.
• Identify opportunities for process and quality improvement and alert supervisor.
• Support new model activity as assigned by project leader/Leadership.
• Participate in checks, tests, trials under supervision of senior technicians.

Wage Information

$37.39 - $42.75

Job Purpose

Technician role critical to the building, installing, and completing system up and maturation activity for production equipment and new model tooling at all auto plants across North America. Support new technology and technology transfer from Japan/North America development teams into production across North America production facilities. Provide production and/or emergency support related to manufacturing issues in support of production.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensures equipment and/or software is running properly for production by following standard procedures.
• Partners with a more experienced Technician to troubleshoot and repair tooling and leverages knowledge gained from training to begin independent troubleshooting of “low” risk items.
• Proactively looks for/identifies potential for process and quality improvement and calls to attention of Supervisor; may occasionally participate in developing recommendations.
• Supports new model activity, as assigned by project leader and/or Leadership.
• Participates in checks, tests, trials etc. under supervision of more experienced Technicians and/or Leadership.
• Utilizes assistance of other Technicians assigned to the job, as appropriate.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience

• 2 Years of Related Experience in mechanical field or qualifying degree

Other Job-Specific Skills

• Maintenance program, tooling build shop or robotic program experience, project leadership/planning capability, written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing Plant environment working in various Honda & supplier plants within all departments. Work on automated production equipment & robotics. Work with suppliers & contractors. Physical demands are general machine assembly, light lifting, working in pits or on mezzanines. Requires frequent travel to job site locations within North America and weekend/holiday support, occasional off shift requirements, and can average 8-10 hours of over time weekly.
