Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Resource and Development Manager (ME R&D) to oversee a department of ~12 engineers and designers. You will coordinate training, manage workload, and collaborate with program managers to align staffing with project needs.

You will mentor engineers, lead hiring efforts, and ensure delivery of high-quality results while interfacing with senior leadership. A DoD clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Ocean Engineering required.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering tasking experience.
• 3+ years of engineering functional management experience.
• Experience supporting government programs.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Functionally manage approximately 12 department team members (P2 to P4).
• Support career development for engineers and designers in the department.
• Lead department hiring and resource allocation with TA support.
• Interface with Portfolio/Program managers and others to determine staffing needs.
• Develop and maintain departmental training programs and evaluate effectiveness.
• Review progress and report outcomes to leadership; ensure quality results.
• Hold team accountable and devise innovative solutions when needed.
• Support occasional travel as needed.
