Job Description

This Mechanical Engineering Manager will provide leadership to Engineers within the business unit to ensure products or services meet customer needs. Responsibilities include executing the strategic plan, managing staffing and project resources, and mentoring team members. The Manager will also ensure compliance with company policies and support process improvements.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

1. Identify resources needed (staffing, training, equipment, facilities, budget) and collaborate across organization to leverage resources.
2. Plan staffing to meet department goals.
3. Communicate job duties, responsibilities, and priorities clearly to team members and establish performance goals.
4. Assess and verify candidate qualifications thoroughly for hiring or promotion.
5. Align individual tasks with organizational objectives and communicate changes as needed.
6. Encourage staff training and skill development.
7. Delegate tasks efficiently to meet timelines and organizational goals.
8. Foster a team environment based on trust, respect, and cooperation.
9. Prepare accurate cost estimates and budget proposals for department needs.
10. Seek cost-effective ways to produce high-quality results.
11. Promote learning and problem resolution through discussion and feedback.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (Master's optional).
• 10+ years of experience in product development.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
• Experience with ANSYS or similar analysis software.
• Leadership experience managing engineering teams.
