Job summary

Steven Douglas Corp. (SDC) seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the Mechanical Engineering team, owning people, performance, standards, and execution. This hands-on leadership role focuses on developing strong engineers and creating scalable processes for a growing engineering organization.

You’ll drive standardization, manage resources across projects, and ensure designs meet customer specs, safety requirements, and budgets while fostering collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering/machine design experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading or managing engineering professionals.
• Strong knowledge of machine design principles, components, materials, tolerancing.
• Advanced experience with 3D CAD; SolidWorks strongly preferred.
• Experience implementing engineering standards, processes, and reusable designs.
• Ability to design equipment for manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop mechanical engineers and designers.
• Plan and allocate engineering resources across projects.
• Establish and improve engineering standards, processes, and libraries.
• Provide technical leadership for machine designs and reviews.
• Collaborate with multiple departments and participate in design reviews.
• Support assembly, debugging, and startup activities.
