Job summary

Plexus Corp. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern to contribute to the product development lifecycle. You will work on mechanical components, create 3D models and drawings, and assist in prototype assembly under the guidance of senior engineers.

This non-exempt internship pays an hourly rate with location-based adjustments. The role emphasizes learning, safety, and collaboration within a team focused on delivering innovative solutions for aerospace, healthcare, and industrial customers.

Qualifications

• Student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering for the entire duration of internship.
• Experience with Creo Parametric and/or SolidWorks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical components and system concepts that satisfy the customer's requirements.
• Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings under the guidance of senior engineers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.
• Assist in building and assembling prototypes, including tasks like cutting, drilling, using a mill or lathe, and assembling components, following safety procedures.
• Perform simple tests on materials or prototypes, record data accurately, and help organize and present test results.
• Complete preliminary analysis on tolerance stack ups, thermal or structural under the guidance of senior engineers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
• Attend meetings, contribute ideas, and take notes, while learning from experienced engineers and gaining exposure to the product development process.
