Job summary

The Corning Mechanical Engineering Intern position in Keene, NH offers hands-on manufacturing experience working with engineers on real projects. You will learn about production equipment, tooling, fixtures, process parameters, and mechanical system performance while gaining exposure to plant operations.

You will participate in project reviews, weekly tech talks, and community involvement, with housing and travel assistance provided for interns.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree
• Rising Junior or Senior status preferred
• Motivated self-starter with an independent learning style
• Basic understanding of manufacturing environments, mechanical systems, or production support systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with data analysis, including Microsoft Excel and SPC rules
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment and contribute as an individual

Responsibilities

• Support projects within the engineering and manufacturing departments
• Work closely with engineers to develop an understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and production equipment
• Interact daily with plant operations teams in production and equipment areas
• Assist with equipment run reviews, process monitoring, data collection, and documentation of observations or improvement opportunities
• Assist with process- and equipment-related experiments designed to build fundamental understanding of mechanical or manufacturing problems
• Participate in the planning, execution, and evaluation phases of engineering activities
• Analyze data and provide support for process improvement, equipment performance, and reliability efforts
• Prepare and deliver updates and formal presentations to engineering and leadership teams
