Job summary

AeroVironment (AVAV) invites motivated students to join our Summer Internship Program across locations in the United States. You will work on hands-on projects with cutting-edge technology, supporting mechanical design and prototype activities in a fast-paced team environment.

Interns will develop problem-solving skills, gain exposure to CAD, simulations, and documentation, and collaborate with experienced engineers to contribute to meaningful programs while gaining a real-world engineering

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with mechanical components and prototyping through projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing mechanical components and systems (airframes, enclosures, ground equipment).
• Create/modify 3D CAD models and assemblies in SolidWorks.
• Support simulation/analysis tasks with SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
• Participate in prototype fabrication and testing using in-house tools.
• Prepare technical drawings and BOMs per drafting standards.
• Collaborate with engineers on design reviews and testing activities.
• Document design progress and test results; support EC/ITAR processes.
