Job summary

Fishbeck in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern/Co‑op to collaborate with our mechanical department and integrate with electrical, structural, civil, and architectural teams. You will work on projects across higher education, healthcare, and municipal sectors, applying Revit and AutoCAD skills to fire protection, plumbing, and HVAC design.

Your role includes assisting with equipment selection, piping, and ductwork design, with ongoing opportunities for professional growth

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Solid understanding of Revit with AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with mechanical department and in‑house electrical, structural, civil, and architectural teams.
• Assist with project design of fire protection, plumbing, and HVAC systems; establish equipment selection, piping, and ductwork design.
• Integrate with design teams on projects ranging from higher education to municipal facilities; contribute to multi‑discipline plans.
