GFT, a leading AEC firm, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to work with our team on diverse projects in Mechanicsburg, PA. You will assist in design, calculations, and documentation under senior engineers, gaining real-world experience and mentorship.

You should be enrolled in ABET-accredited program, familiar with Revit, and eager to learn. The internship runs mid-May to mid-August, with hourly compensation of $21–$28, and a pathway to full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in ABET-accredited bachelor's or master's program in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• Demonstrated interest in mechanical engineering careers through coursework or internships.
• Basic proficiency with Revit 3D or equivalent.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on client projects, contributing to design and development processes.
• Work closely with engineers to understand project requirements and propose innovative solutions.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and design system layouts (piping, ductwork, etc.), including equipment sizing and coordination of trades.
• Assist in reviewing and modifying designs based on project needs and participate in field survey work as required.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design specifications, reports, and technical drawings.
