This position would be a part-time role and would be flexible to work around student’s schedules with a target of 15-20 hrs per week. Interns will work in a dynamic, diverse, and collaborative team solving problems and acquiring hands-on experience in a wide range of areas including product design, manufacturing, environmental testing, and 2D drafting. Throughout the program, participants will gain exposure to many fundamental disciplines of mechanical engineering: stress and strain, hot and cold thermal solutions, electronics and opto-mechanical packaging. **Potential tasks for a Mechanical Engineering Intern include but are not limited to:*** DVT Test creation, execution and documentation* Prototype part inventory management* Assembly documentation creation and fixture design* Procurement tracking and coordinationMust be able to begin working part-time in the fall term. English speaking is required due to the collaborative nature of the internship program. **Ideal Candidate Profile:*** Junior/Senior in 4-year BS degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar engineering degree.* Experience designing and building products* Design for 3D printing and experience optimizing parts for 3D printing.* Strong verbal and written communicator.* Highly recommended: Expert user in MS Excel and familiarity with Solidworks. **Preferred**: Experience with 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred) and MS Office Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
