Job summary

RPMGlobal is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern to provide design support within the Engineering Department. The role offers exposure to hands-on project work and collaboration with senior engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree, have basic AutoCAD experience, and are willing to learn and contribute to design tasks in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience using AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Think logically to evaluate strengths/weaknesses of design options.
  • Learn fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering/Design.
  • Assist with project research, preliminary designs and analyses.
  • Support preparation of final design plans and cost estimates.
  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
  • Work with the AutoCAD program to create and modify drawings.
  • Prepare engineering documents regarding design and layouts.

Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineering Intern will provide Mechanical Design support to the Engineering Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties as assigned.

  • Think logically and reasonably to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Learn basic principles of Mechanical Engineering/Design.
  • Assist with project research and preliminary designs and analysis.
  • Support preparation of final design plans, provisions and cost estimates.
  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
  • Understand department needs and seek clarification when needed.
  • Work with AutoCADD program.
  • Compose Engineering documents regarding design and layouts.
  • Take Measurements and create designs.
  • Adheres to and enforces safety, food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices regulations.
  • Reports food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Currently attending accredited institution pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in using AutoCAD
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid Passport book or the ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire.
Computer Skills
  • Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
